GET MARQUETTE!The charming community of Marquette is nestled beside the Smoky Hill River in McPherson County. It was established in 1874, mostly by Swedes. Our late 19th century buildings downtown reflect the Swedish style, being freshly painted in original colors. You will find places to eat and shop and museums, art galleries and murals to see. Historic buildings each have their own story to share.
While you are here, be sure to visit our city park with its swimming pool and the corner Dakota sandstone gates and bandshell.
From the early days of dugouts and the flour mill on the river, the people of Marquette have worked together to create a vibrant community, and do so today. |
