About this Exploration: The Mill Street Inn anchors the west end of Main Street. Built by a veterinarian, the basement was originally used for animals. The upstairs was the family home and office area. This limestone barn and home has been repurposed several times. The owners willingly share the history, photographs, and documents that they have collected.
Pat and Cliff Johns remodeled the barn into four plush suites:
The spacious Swanky Suite has a retro kitchen out of the 50s!
The Serenity Suite is the part of the Inn that was a doctor office.
The Stardust Suite, with a balcony entrance, is cozy and romantic for two.
The Sportsman Suite can sleep four on two queen beds.
Thanks to locking doors, the inn can be opened up between the suites and the Spare Room to create an ingenious combination of spaces to tailor-fit your needs.
The basement has been converted into a wonderful entertaining area with a bathroom, bar, big TV, couches, tables, and even a pool table. There is a shaded side yard with a picnic table. Many reunion groups enjoy renting the whole inn and using the basement for their gatherings.
The best way to "see" the inn and make reservations is to visit their website at http://www.millstreetinn.net. Call 785.392.7232 or 785.392.7230 with questions.
