Email Address: milesbb@ingleboromansion.com About this Exploration: Ingleboro was built at the turn of the century by J.R. Burrow and his wife. The couple combined their names Ingalls and Burrow and named the mansion Ingleboro. It has been known as such ever since. When the mansion was built, the estate covered what was considered an entire city block. The property included a running stream, gazebo, deer and peacock.s. Burrow lived in the mansion until the early 1900s. During that time a man here in Smith Center, named Henry Williams began bugging Burrow to sell him the mansion. Finally, to Williams surprise, Burrow said sold.
The Williams family lived in the mansion until the early 1920s when Dr. Funk bought the home and turned it into a hospital until 1951 when the new hospital was built. It was a nursing home in the 1970's and a restaurant until January 2000. During the restaurant years the bedrooms upstairs were converted into bed and breakfast rooms a few at a time. Bruce and Bobbi Miles purchased the home in 2000 and worked to restore the mansion to its original grandeur serving as a Bed and Breakfast since then.
