About this Exploration: This unique restaurant is housed in ... a house! Although it's not Auntie Em's farmhouse, a large front porch will entice you to sit and enjoy the beautiful view of City Park when you're done eating. All menu items are made from scratch and fresh-baked daily. One of 24 varieties of homemade soup is served daily, ranging from chicken noodle and broccoli cheese to white chili and black bean. Other specials include fresh salads, casseroles, bierocks, ham and cheddar rolls, and Smoked Brisket with Red Roasted Potatoes. To maintain quality, only one special per day is served.
The indoor dining area of the Friendship House seats only 65; so at peak lunch hours, expect a short wait. You will find the service friendly and the fresh-tasting, home-style food well worth the wait. All items are available for take-out orders also. Hours:
Open daily 11 a.m-3 p.m.
Breakfast served Saturday 7-10:30 a.m. and Sunday 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
