Lincoln County CourthouseAddress:
216 E. Lincoln Avenue
About this Exploration: The courthouse was built in 1900 in less than a year, after a fire destroyed the original courthouse. All limestone used in the building was quarried near Lincoln. The trim on the building is a lighter limestone which mainly accentuates the openings. Many of the arches have keystones. The courthouse was listed on the National Historical Registry in 1976 for its significance in local politics and government and its architecture.
There are historical displays of pioneer relics, military records, along with county history in the main hallway.
The courthouse is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
