About this Exploration: Jack Curtis was born in Lincoln in 1921. For twelve years he wrote scripts for some of televisions top westerns including Zane Grey Theater, Have Gun Will Travel, Gunsmoke, The Rifleman, Rawhide, Big Valley, The Outlaws, Cimarron Strip, and Wagon Train.
Several "fast-action" suspenseful novels of the Old West were also written by Jack Curtis and were published by Pocket Books. The Lincoln County Historical Society has a hand-bound, humorous, and poignant document written by Curtis about his dyslexia, and his grandfather whom he turned to for support as a child.
