WWII POW Camp ConcordiaAddress:
1550 Union Road
About this Exploration: On July 15, 1943, Camp Concordia opened. Located two miles north and one mile east of Concordia on Union Road, it was once home to over 4,000 German POWs. Prisoners played soccer, attended school, and socialized under the watchful eyes of the guards in this tower. The camp closed on November 8, 1945 but the main gate building, building T-9 and the officer's clubhouse are still standing. Visit the two rooms of memorabilia and
historical artifacts from Camp Concordia housed at the Cloud County
Museum. Drive out to the site to see the
Guard House and building up close. For a guided tour of the site call Cloud County Tourism at 785.243.4303.
